Nike: The Church

In 2018 I was commissioned by Nike Basketball via Momentum Worldwide to conceive an experiential space that reignited the the passion of hoops for the city of Chicago, which has seen its faith in the game ravaged by gun violence which made many of the public courts unsafe.

Drawing from spirituality and the notion that the Faith had to be restored, the idea was to convert a church into a state of the art basketball facility that could host events and clinics for kids.

The Church of the Epiphany, built in 1885, was retro-fitted with stained glass windows and adorned with hoop-inspired spiritual iconography that represented a light that emerged from the darkness.
